We, the undersigned, pensioners of the Hong Kong Police

Force, humbly submit, in view of the increase in the cost of

living, that pensions payable to us at present are insuffic-

ient and inadequate. As you are aware, the cost of living

has admittedly increased by at least 115%, and this figure

is borne out by Government publications. There seems to be

little hope of prices being reduced in the near future, and considerable hardship is being borne by us in consequence.

We are making this application knowing that same will be fair :ly considered by you, and we shall be glad to hear that our

request has been conceded, and that the pensions will be post

dated, in order that the hardships already borne by us will

be to some extent mitigated.
